Cussed at by a ghost and more. Moon River Brewing 3rd Floor Paranormal Investigation. Savannah, Georgia. Lacie Armstrong, January 16, 2024January 16, 2024 Moon River Brewing company has been on my bucket list for a couple of years now. I was supposed to go in 2022 and the plans fell through, so I made it a priority for this past year. Halloween weekend 2023, I joined Truth In Evidence Haunted tours (tie) for a late night paranormal investigation. Typically, the 3rd and 4th floors of the building are closed off to the public. A warning sign alerts patrons of the bar that they are not allowed up the stairs and even warns them against attack ghosts. Caution tape also crosses a eerily squeaky swinging door that prevents access to the 3rd floor. The only people that are allowed to venture into the warning zones are staff members (most of whom refuse to go up there), those granted special permission to perform private paranormal investigations (Ghost Brothers, Ghost Adventures, Sam and Colby, and Paranormal Quest have all filmed there), and ghost hunters as part of tie haunted investigations. Signs warning patrons are hung at the entry to the stairway within the Moon River Brewing Company bar. The top floors have not been renovated due to apparent other worldly acts preventing them from doing so. Tools go missing, workers get pushed off of their ladders or get scared off by other seemingly ghostly deeds. In the late 1990s when the bar was preparing to open, a job foreman’s wife brought him lunch and was shoved by an unseen force down the 3rd floor stairs. The job foreman called off the job, never to return to the building again. As such, the 3rd and 4th floors remain “caught in time”- dark, dusty, and vacant. Photo I took of an abandoned ladder and unrenovated 4th floor at Moon River Brewing Company. An apparition, a lady in white, has been spotted by multiple people as she paces the 3rd floor and the 3rd floor stairway. It is uncertain who she is but is theorized that she may be the one protecting against renovations. These floors were also once used as a yellow fever hospital where adults and children met agonizing deaths. Not quite a full body apparaition but I did catch something interesting on my camera in the hallway of the 3rd floor, just after we had been hearing foot steps in that location. These photos were taken in rapid sequence. There is a lot to the history of the Moon River Brewing building and a more thorough history can be found during the introduction to my investigation video posted here. A description of the equipment used during this investigation is also detailed below. Paranormal Investigation Video 3rd floor Moon River Brewing company Savannah, Georgia. Explanation of equipment used in this investigation video: REM pod: Circular device with an antenna. It beeps and lights up with changes in temperature and/or electromagnetic field. It really only goes off if something touches it (walkie-talkies have been shown to make them go off, so it is important not to be active on those while conducting a session). You can see in the video that no one is touching it yet it is going off in coordination with some of our questions. The idea is, if you ask a question, and it goes off, then something is using it to communicate. With most of our questions, we are using the machine going off as a “yes” answer and a failure to go off as a “no” answer. Geoport/Geobox: Speaker looking device (sitting on the bench in this video) that spirits can manipulate to speak through. It’s believed that spirits are able to change or influence bursts of audio in order to form their own words or even sentences. It’s similar to a spirit box in the fact that it quickly scans AM/FM radio frequencies at a rapid (and often reversed) rate. It is different from the spirit box in the feature that it cuts out the “white noise” from the shuffling frequencies to allow for more definite words or sounds to come through. With the Geo- the radio and EMF signals are fed into a reverb device which allows modulation of the noise. That is what gives the boxes their distinct echoey sound. Audio recorder: Often referred to in ghost hunting as an EVP recorder as it is used to capture Electronic Voice Phenomena. EVPs are sounds or voices that can not be heard with the human ear but get recorded onto the electronic recording device and can be heard during playback. I was carrying one of these with me during the investigation and at one point I set a second one on the bench next to the geoport. I did capture several EVPs on this recorder during this session. They can be audibly differentiated from words coming from the geoport as the geoport has that distinct echo sound whereas EVPs do not. Phasm camera: The video camera I used for this investigation came from GhostStop. It is a small go pro looking video camera that has night vision and full spectrum filming capabilities, meaning it can film lighting not visible to the human eye (infrared/IR). A full spectrum video camera is a powerful tool that can be used to capture images in both the visible and invisible light spectrum. This means that you are able to see things that are normally not visible to the naked eye, including objects in the infrared and ultraviolet ranges (it is believed that spirits may be able to manifest themselves in these parts of the light spectrum). I also used the full spectrum phasm light from GhostStop to enhance the lighting. Flashlights: Don’t let the camera view fool you- it was pretty much pitch black on the 3rd floor as there is no electricity to that floor of the building!!! Hope you enjoy my video and, if so, please comment, like, subscribe, follow, all the things. 🙂 Share this:FacebookXLike this:Like Loading... Related Uncategorized
